We can create a log home from your own design or a plan from another source, or from a combination of both.

If you need any assistance with your floor plan, we can “Custom-design” that for you as well. We and our very experienced draftsmen will work closely with you to assure that your new home exactly meets your needs.

Together with our Partners/Sub-contractors, ATLANTIC CANADA LOG HOMES INC. can offer you project management and be your general contractor for the whole project and provide and price the following other services to you!

A detailed list of materials included in a complete Weather Tight Shell Package, supplied by ATLANTIC CANADA LOG HOMES INC. is listed in our section: :”Log Home Specifications”.

Additional various options are available and are typically calculated separately when a complete quotation is prepared.

Such items may include: first floor / sub floor, interior framing materials, wall and ceiling finishes, window and door trim, baseboards, deck and balcony materials, stairways material, interior doors.

Other optional materials such as: Beam cathedral roof, metal roofing, half logs for dormer, interior log partitions, various options for windows and doors available.

ATLANTIC CANADA LOG HOMES INC. Works together with Kenomee Log Homes Ltd. In Economy N.S. And is using Kenomee’s Northern White Cedar Round Logs, Tongue and Groove with full Saddle Notch Corners.

This system offers the beauty of the round log profile inside as well as on the outside.

The following Log profiles and sizes are available:

Round logs in 6, 7 or 8 inches diameter.

Northern White Cedar is easy to work with and because of its density, can be precision milled.

It has: Superior R-value, 1.41 per inch of thickness. This is one of the highest of any wood species used in log  homes. Superior resistance against rot, mold and fungus.

Northern White Cedar shrinks much less than other woods. Precision of air-dried high quality White Cedar Logs keep shrinking and settling to a minimum, less than 1’ over an 8’ wall. Of course special building techniques allow for any shrinking or settling.

In the final, for ease of construction, each log is precisely pre-cut and pre-drilled to your plan specifications.

No cutting is required on the building site. All logs are numbered in accordance with the plan specifications for you plan specification.

All materials are wrapped in protective covering and shipped to your building site.

A STEP BY STEP PROCESS

  1. FREE ESTIMATE means:
    Sending us a sketch of a plan pf your choice with as many details as you are able to supply.
    Such as: House dimensions, floors
                Deck and / or balcony.
                Type of windows and doors.
                Preferred roof style systems.
                Others........
    We will then prepare you a free and non-binding “Budget Estimate”.
  2. PLAN ESTIMATE MEANS:
    If you wish to receive a more precise estimate within about 10%  of the total log home package price. We will take your detailed sketch, have it laid out by our draftsman and give you a written detailed free and non-binding estimate based on your information.
    We charge a fee of CAN. $150 for this service.
  3. QUOTATION PACKAGE / PERSONALIZED PLAN means:
    If you wish to receive an exact quotation, we will take your selected drawings and prepare a complete set of structural drawings, showing the Foundations, Main Floor, Second Floor, Roof Layout, Elevations and Cross Sections.
    An exact quotation and material list will then be supplied.
    The costs of a personalized plan is CAN. $ 1.000 for a square foot living space area of less than 1800 square foot, with an extra charge of CAN. $ 0.45 per additional square foot living space area.
    If you decide to choose ATLANTIC CANADA LOG HOMES INC. As your General contractor for the whole project, you will be automatically REDEEMED for the following costs that you may have incurred:
    A) The costs of CAN. $ 150.00 for a plan estimate.
    B) The full amount for a personalized plan will be credited at the time of purchase.
  4. CONTRACT PRESENTATION:
    Upon the signing and acceptance of a complete and finalized set of structural house drawings, a contract price is established and presented. Followed by contract price is established and presented. Followed by contract signing, a deposit payment is required according to our payment schedule as shown below.
  5. PURCHASING:
    Our payment schedule is as follows:
    20% of the total sales price as down payment upon signing a contract.
    60% of the total sales price is payable 45 days prior to delivery.
    20% remaining balance is payable on delivery.
    All applicable sales taxes are included in the total salaes price.
  6. CONSTRUCTION / DELIVERY TIMES:
    How long does it take to construct a log home from start to finish?
    For s turn-key operation, please allow 3 to 5 months, depending on the size of the house, the season and shipping distance.
    A complete Weather Tight Shell Package can usually be shipped within 4 to 6 weeks.

We can also export complete house packages to Germany, Austria or any other country.
For export to other countries outside Canada, we can arrange the com plate service of transport and logistics to your final building site.
